If you have not done so already, please do some research on the pilot FA nib before thinking about adding this pen (mine or others) to your collection. There are lots of mixed reviews on the FA nib and for good reason. Before I bought this pen I read and watched several reviews because word on the fountain pen streets was that the FA nibs are hit or miss.
Out of the box I was able to use the soft, flxey nib to draw beautiful (subject) letters. This being said, the pen does not work perfectly with all inks that I have tried it with. For me this was not an issue because I mainly use three inks in any of my flex pen's. Another caveat is the positioning of the nib while writing. I found that if I held the pen a little more upright the flexing was better.Inks used in this pen: Iroshizuku kon-peki(worked ok in the pen) yama-budo (worked well in the pen and is the current ink) tsuki-yo (worked very well) and Noodlers heart of darkness (worked the best out of any ink).
